It always confused me, because its also very common to pay lipservice to allura’s feelings by saying she had a right or was in the right or was logical to think all galra were evil and untrustworthy, but if they really thought it was similar to real life racism, why would they say that? thats the same logic used to mistreat japanese-americans in the 40s and middle easterners now. i assumed nobody would really want to justify that if they understood that would be the end result.

Feel free to not answer if you don’t want to drag up this discussion again, but I was reading through your galra keith tag, and I have to say, I kind of thought most people had interpreted Keith finding out that he was part galra as analogous to finding out that he was part white, rather than nonwhite. Because there are a lot of things that have been said about keith and the galra that become REALLY racist if that’s not the case, and it stops being even slightly justifiable if it ever was. idgi.

So this is probably stupid, but I hate how the writers decided to make Keith part Galra and how they handled that plot line. What I suppose should have been an arc showing that not all Galra are evil just turned into a whole arc about Keith, and that bothers me. Sure, he got over his hatred of the Galra and began to sympathize with them, but I feel that is ONLY because he is one himself. Had Pidge, Hunk, or Lance ended up with Galla blood, I can’t see him being very accepting of them (1/2).
