what do you think about kazubisha? bc it seems really problematic to me esp since kazuma repeatedly lies and manipulates bishamon (ie convincing her not to attack yato bc of kofuku’s vent) and the way he sexualizes her in his mind reads more creepy than anything. its like he’s just a Nice Guy ™ who’s taking advantage of her. what do you think? thanks in advance, love your stuff!
I think with Kazuma, it’s important to take his actions in context. When you start thinking about the things he does individually, they do start to seem a bit problematic by Western standards, but in the framework of the story they’re typically justifiable without much issue. Thank you for that insightful Kazuma essay! You really have a knack for illuminating aspects of the character that hasn’t been explored by fandom! I have a question, though – you mentioned that at one point Kazuma called Yato a quick rich schemer. This seems pretty out of character for him, especially given the powerful argument that Kazuma is one of the few people that actually respects Yato. Why did Kazuma call him that? Was it justified?
