“not eligible for redemption, courtesy of being mentally ill.” i don’t know if you meant for it to sound this way, but the way you phrased that made it sound an awful lot like you believe mentally ill people are incapable of being heroes or redeeming themselves, which is hella gross and ableist. please be more careful with your phrasing.

I literally just got done writing a twenty page essay on marginalization of mentally ill people in My Hero Academia and how the villainization of mentally ill people is a harmful stereotype that validates the goals of the League of Villains in this series and makes them both relatable and beloved by fans, as well …

Thanks for answering my ask earlier, but I thinkyou misread it. I asked whether you knew any stories that MIXED two different genres, slice and life and adventure.

Did you get a chance to check out any of the things I suggested? They are all indeed “slice of life mixed with adventure,” at least by my personal definitions. I promise I didn’t misunderstand what you were asking for! In the post I was just mentioning slice of life specifically, saying that since I …

– I was re-reading HaaH and when I got to the end of chapter eight I had a blast messing with ideas of how the kiddos ending up piled in Keith’s room while he was healing, especially with how hard fought Dulsara’s semi-trust has been. Ahhh, I feel like I don’t watch/read too any series that are specifically slice of life-centric, so I’m not sure if my recommendations will be too helpful, but some that come to mind immediately are:A lot Studio Ghibli films, especially Whisper of the Heart and From Up on Poppy Hill. The film Wolf Children might …

Tiger is a transgender man and a hero, doesn’t that even out Magne‘s portrayal?

Gonna quickly answer a few asks tonight in between trying to get some actual words of writing down on paper. The struggle is real. So…*Scrunchy face* I’m not really the kind of person who thinks that one example of “positive” representation can even out a negative portrayal, and Tiger still faces the exact same problem as …
